I am a 43 year old, single mother of three. Three years ago, I endured a very
emotionally and physically traumatic experience. As a result, I developed
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. Unfortunately, this condition went undiagnosed
for nearly two years.
I became increasingly withdrawn and had no energy or desire to participate in
even normal everyday activities. Routine tasks felt stressful and I began
medicating this stress with food, finding great relief and pleasure in gorging
myself with enormous and frequent heavy meals, followed by prolonged periods of
sleeping soundly. This resulted, of course, in my gaining a great deal of
weight.
Eventually I sought and received counseling for my stress-related problems, but
my serious case of obesity remained to be dealt with. My physical condition had
been devastated. I was five-foot, four-inches tall but weighted in at 236
pounds. As I became more and more prepared psychologically to get back into the
swing of things, physically I was a wreck... tiring easily, lacking in stamina,
and so on. I tried everything... skipping meals on starvation diets; diet
shakes; low protein; low this, high that...
You name it - I'd claim it.
One of my co-workers, however, had been very supportive throughout my trials and
tribulations, my disappointments and poorly informed choices. She referred me to
Dr. Beale. Naturally, after all I had been through, I was quite skeptical. I had
no experience with so-called "weight loss doctors." But, my co-worker had
personal friends who shared with her their success stories. I spoke with a
number of them and came away increasingly intrigued. I did additional research
online, by visiting Dr. Beale's website, and decided to meet with him for
at least an initial consultation.
I was impressed with the friendly, welcoming and professional demeanor of the
office's approach to me. While there I encountered many women who, like myself,
had had enough of diet "tricks" and fads, and who were seeking
common-sense help in an atmosphere of encouragement and support. I underwent a
complete physical examination. As a result, I learned I had high cholesterol. This really concerned
me because heart disease runs in my family.
Almost from the week I began my new diet regime, I was
surprised to see how positive were the results.
Although I have not always been as diligent each week
as I should have been, I have shed 40 pounds and
dropped four dress sizes. My cholesterol readings are
under control. Friends and associates have noticed my
slimmer appearance, and I am considerably more
confident and self-assured. The best benefit, of
course, is quite simple: I feel healthier.
The entire approach of Dr. Beale is geared toward
empowerment through nutritional education, leading to
positive results. I highly recommend this program to
any woman who, like me, feels powerless in addressing
the challenge of weight loss as a key part of living a
healthy life.
